Built in 1927 in local red sandstone as a royal address for Maharaj Dhiraj Sir Ajit Singh of Marwar-Jodhpur, Ajit Bhawan epitomizes the sophistication of Rajputana design and exudes an air of timeless elegance. In the early 1980’s, under the tutelage of Rani Usha Devi and Maharaj Swaroop Singh, a section of the palace was converted into a 12-key exclusive retreat, and thus Ajit Bhawan pioneered the emergence of heritage hotels in India! Their legacy, vision, and commitment to excellence have been the guiding principles at The Ajit Group. Influenced by the 20th century epoch, the décor is a celebration of Rajasthani craftsmanship featuring exquisite heirlooms, ornate furnishings, locally procured artefacts, and eclectic artwork.
